Earlier this year the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series came to Sheffield for the Sheffield Grand Prix.
A competitive field was present in Sheffield including Double Olympic Gold Medallist Ed Clancy.
I was lucky enough to have VIP access, which was provided by Harrisons Cameras from Sheffield and Canon.
The latest L lenses were available to have a play with, 300mm primes, zoom 300mm, 70-200mm etc.
It was the first sports event I have covered, and was a blast to do, I hope to cover more sporting events in the future.
One lasting memory I have from the shoot, was how many memory cards I burned through, it really was shoot, shoot, shoot.
I ended up with 1000+ images, maybe 2 3rds in focus and maybe 200, I would say, were decent enough for use.
After editing and critiquing the images I managed to knock it down to around 70 keepers and maybe 10 faves,
sports photography is definitely shoot first look later type of shooting.
